The Importance of Reducing Medial Talonavicular Subluxation in Arthrodesis Surgery for Müller-Weiss Disease. The Guangdong China Experience.
Аннотация
Progressive compression of the lateral navicular and medial talonavicular subluxation constitute the primary pathomechanical processes in Müller-Weiss disease (MWD). Secondary deformities arise in the mid and hindfoot with ensuing peri-navicular pain and arthritis. The key to successful radiological and clinical, mid-to long-term outcomes for arthrodesis in MWD is to incorporate the reduction of medial talonavicular subluxation at the time of fusion. This approach helps address the various components of complex mid and hindfoot deformities. It also slows down the progression of adjacent joint arthritis. Correction of hindfoot varus and forefoot supination is also important to avoid postoperative lateral column pain.
