Аннотация

BACKGROUND: Arterial occlusion is commonly used clinically, yet no standardized protocol exists for cuff pressure or placement. Different pressures and locations may elicit varying physiological responses. This study investigates whether local and systemic reactions vary with pressure and cuff location.

METHODS: Healthy volunteers underwent arterial occlusion at the wrist or upper arm using a cuff inflated to 150 or 200 mmHg. Remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) was used to monitor the occluded and control hands. We analyzed AC components (heart rate, respiratory rate, low-frequency activity) and signal amplitude changes in red and green channels during occlusion and reperfusion.

RESULTS: No significant differences were observed in local responses between 150 and 200 mmHg occlusions or between cuff positions.

CONCLUSIONS: These findings establish 150 mmHg cuff pressure on the lower arm as a suitable arterial occlusion protocol and support rPPG for detecting perfusion changes. Minor systemic differences were noted compared to the control hand.
