Аннотация
A 7-year-old female patient was diagnosed with a neoplasm at the apex of the temporal bone. The duration of the illness from the onset of initial symptoms to the surgical intervention was 13 months. Standard ENT examinations did not reveal any significant pathology aside from signs of chronic otitis. The definitive diagnosis was made based on imaging results from MRI in T1, T2, DWI modes, and T1 with contrast, which indicated a contrast-enhancing lesion in the apical regions of the right temporal bone. Given the preoperative preservation of auditory and vestibular functions, the surgery was performed via a middle cranial fossa approach. The procedure was conducted under microscopic and endoscopic guidance. Pathomorphological examination results indicated a chondrogenic tumor (chondroma/chondrosarcoma). In the postoperative period, deviation of the eyeball persisted but resolved spontaneously by the time of discharge on the 8th day. Auditory and vestibular functions were preserved.
