Development of Alternate Stent Platforms for Pediatric and Congenital Applications.

This article reviews the evolution and current development of stent platforms for pediatric and congenital heart disease. It highlights limitations of off-label use of adult stents, the emergence of growth-compatible technologies such as the Renata Minima, and the promise and challenges of bioresorbable scaffolds. Emphasis is placed on engineering strategies-including , computational modeling, material biocompatibility, and patient-specific design-that are accelerating innovation in this field.
