Аннотация

Methane, the principal component of natural gas, is a relatively clean fuel. Nevertheless, unutilized and escaped methane exerts approximately 25 times greater influence on the greenhouse effect compared to carbon dioxide. The rational design of high-performance palladium-based catalysts for methane combustion holds significant importance for alleviating the greenhouse effect. The customized establishment of metal-support interaction (MSI) has emerged as a promising strategy owing to its capabilities in activating reactants, regulating interfacial electron transfer, and stabilizing metal species. This field has witnessed several decades of development and has been comprehensively summarized in excellent reviews. However, the regulation of MSI on palladium-based catalysts and its specific impacts on the catalyst structure and the methane combustion reaction remain ambiguous. This review aims to systematically elaborate on the precise design and regulation strategies of MSI in palladium-based catalysts and focuses on studying the catalytic effects of MSI on palladium species and methane oxidation reactions. Finally, the challenges and future development directions are prospected. It is anticipated that this review will offer insights for researchers to rationally construct methane combustion catalysts with appropriate MSI to enhance catalytic performance.
