[Factors In The Poor Prognosis Of Chronic Renal Disease At The District Hospital In Tanguiéta (Benin)].
Аннотация
OBJECTIVE
To study the poor prognostic factors of renal failure under conservative treatment at Tanguiéta Zone Hospital (Benin) from 2018 to 2021.
METHODS
This was a longitudinal study with data collection from 1 January 2018 to 30 June 2021 with a minimum follow-up of 12 months. Patients of both sexes admitted to the internal medicine department with structural and functional renal impairment evolving for more than three months and who had given their consent were included. The dependent variable was the prognosis of patients with a GFR <15ml/mn/1.73m2, undergoing conservative treatment at the end of 12 months of follow-up in patients and undergoing conservative treatment. The prognosis was poor in the event of persistent renal failure or death. Sampling was exhaustive. Factors were identified and the significance threshold was set at p<0.05.
RESULTS
A total of 55 patients were included. The mean age of the patients was 39 ± 17 years [range 15 years to 86 years]. The proportion of women was 54.7%, with a sex ratio of 0.83. Of the 55 patients, 20.3% had arterial hypertension. The prognosis was poor in 21.8% of cases. Pneumopathy (p= 0.0311), corticosteroid therapy (p=0.0198) and hypernatremia (p= 0.0423) were significantly associated with the poor prognosis of renal failure.
CONCLUSION
There are many factors contributing to the poor prognosis of renal failure. Early detection of CKD is essential in order to institute conservative treatment to avoid complications.
