Аннотация
A typology of cancer patient response patterns observed during a period of acute ongoing geopolitical tension, based on real-time interactions within a tertiary oncology center in Bahrain is presented. Drawing on frontline psycho-oncology practice, we describe five distinct response patterns; defiant/adaptive, overwhelmed, reassuring/other-focused, anticipatory anxiety, and caregiver-patient dyadic anxiety that capture the heterogeneity of adult patient experiences in the context of concurrent illness and geopolitical crisis. The typology extends existing theoretical models of distress and coping by offering a practical, experience-informed framework that may be applicable across diverse oncology settings during similar geopolitical crises.
