Аннотация
CASE: This case discusses the reimplantation of a comminuted osteochondral fracture of the lateral talar dome with 1 large extruded fragment in a 19-year-old man after a low-energy motor vehicle accident. The fragment transport and decontamination protocols are detailed and the patient's return to full, pain-free range of motion at 18-month follow-up with no radiographic signs of arthritis.
CONCLUSION: To our knowledge, this is the only case describing reimplantation of an extruded osteochondral fracture fragment that also provides a surgical technique and anticipatory guidance for patients and providers in regard to short-term postoperative outcomes.
