Аннотация
This paper offers a critical yet appreciative reading of Lucy LaFarge's essay, arguing that it unfolds through a sustained play of presence and absence: between what is stated and what remains backgrounded, between explicit theory and tacit assumptions, between observational distance and the analyst's implication. At its center is the imaginer/imagined formula, treated as an unconscious phantasy that organizes reciprocal expectations and that, in clinical work, comes into view as a shared scene rather than a purely individual "distortion." The author brings out the essay's unspoken dialogue with European traditions, especially Kleinian and post-Bionian lines, and traces its turning point, when the case lets LaFarge's own history surface, shifting argument into testimony. The paper thus reframes change: from epistemic correction to transformation as shared responsibility within the analytic relationship.
