Kidstime Workshops: Participants' Perspectives The Kidstime program is an innovative prevention program that addresses the specific needs of children and adolescents whose parents suffer from mental illness. It is based on multi-family work and includes a monthly psychoeducational workshop with discussions about mental health and illness, staging stories created by the children, and simultaneous parent groups. This article shows a quantitative analysis of feedback forms completed by families from a total of seven locations in northern Germany over a period of up to ten years after each Kidstime event. A total of 42 annual evaluations from seven locations in northern Germany were included. In addition, qualitative interviews were conducted with three adolescents or young adults about their experiences and four families about their reasons for leaving the Kidstime program. On average, 90-95 % of respondents said that they benefited from the program and would like to continue participating. In addition to a high level of acceptance of the Kidstime groups, the qualitative evaluation revealed four key factors: experiencing togetherness and interaction with others, learning about mental health, opportunities to experience play and joy, and effects on family relationships. Areas for new and further development were identified, including the establishment of a separate Kidstime workshop for young people to better meet their age-specific needs.
