Аннотация
Objective comparison of facial rejuvenation techniques has remained challenging. This paper aims to integrate evolutionary, anatomic, histologic, and biomechanical evidence to support the limited delamination, extended deep-plane rhytidectomy technique. In addition, the paper introduces a novel 3-zone biomechanical system to understand the behavior of the face challenging the antiquated 5-layer model. It discusses the benefits of limited delamination, a variable, lateral deep-plane entry point, and the importance of different soft tissue types in facial rejuvenation surgery. Overall, the limited delamination, extended deep-plane rhytidectomy represents the most anatomically correct methodology for reversing facial aging.
