Аннотация
Second-generation antipsychotics are widely used to treat a range of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents but are frequently associated with significant weight gain and metabolic sequelae. Metformin, an antihyperglycemic agent, is an evidence-based option for mitigating these adverse effects in youth. Despite evidence supporting its efficacy and safety, adjunctive metformin remains underutilized in pediatric patients receiving second-generation antipsychotics.
