Self-limited focal epilepsies in childhood (SeLFEs) comprise a group of epileptic syndromes characterized by age-dependent onset, spontaneous remission, and a favorable outcome in most cases. Although historically considered benign, recent evidence shows an association with cognitive, behavioral, and sleep disturbances, as well as atypical outcomes. This clinical update summarizes relevant advances in their diagnostic and therapeutic profile, predictive factors, and associated outcomes, published between 2022 and 2026.
