Аннотация
A case of orbital myiasis caused by Chrysomya bezziana arising from a long-standing, untreated basal cell carcinoma of the medial canthus in a 52-year-old woman is reported. The patient presented with periocular swelling, foul-smelling discharge, bleeding, and visible larvae emerging from the ulcerated lesion. Computed tomography showed orbital soft-tissue involvement with extension into the ipsilateral nasal cavity and ethmoid sinus, and focal bony erosion. Management included prompt mechanical removal of larvae, local wound care, systemic antibiotics, and adjunctive oral and topical ivermectin. Early recognition and aggressive treatment led to the rapid resolution of the infestation, enabling referral for definitive oncologic management.
