[Study on vitamin A nutrition status in plasma of different economic level of Chinese 3- 12-year-old children].

OBJECTIVE

To know the Vitamin A nutrition status of different economic level of Chinese 3-12y children.

METHODS

Blood samples were drown from 132 investigated counties of National Nutrition and Health Survey 2002, while each age group of children 6 blood samples were drown with boys and girls respectively. All blood samples were determined with HPLC.

RESULTS

The vitamin A level in plasma is different in different economic level, and the vitamin A nutrition status is correlative with the family income.

CONCLUSION

The result also indicates that the vitamin A level in plasma of 3-12y children is influent with the family economic level, and the result will provide the data to work out the strategy to improve the vitamin A nutrition status.
