INTRODUCTION: This bibliometric study investigates research trends on geriatric care models using quantitative data and performance indicators, offering a comprehensive overview for researchers.
METHODS: The Web of Science database was searched using the term "geriatric care models" across all fields. A total of 1,667 articles published between 2020 and 2024 were analyzed. Author, citation, journal, country, institution, and keyword analyses were conducted.
RESULTS: The United States had the highest number of citations, with Cederholm as the most cited author and Harvard Medical School as the top institution. Frequently co-occurring keywords included frailty, older adults and geriatric. The strongest bibliographic coupling was found in the work of William Grant R.
CONCLUSION: Key themes emerging from the literature include adverse outcomes, delirium identification, multidisciplinary care approaches, physical performance, elderly community care, survival, and stroke management. These findings highlight the evolving focus areas in geriatric care research.
