Аннотация

OBJECTIVE: Salivary gland tumors have been extensively studied; however, a comprehensive and systematic bibliometric analysis is still lacking. This study aims to summarize the progress in salivary gland tumor research through bibliometric analysis.

RESEARCH METHODS: A total of 1,223 articles and reviews were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Excel 2019 and CiteSpace software were used to visually analyze research trends, authors, journals, institutions, countries, keywords, and cited references.

RESULTS: Emerging research topics include the etiology of salivary gland tumors, the effects of head and neck radiation therapy, and adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC), suggesting potential future research directions. The relationship between tumor incidence and postoperative recurrence remains controversial, underscoring the need for standardized terminology, updated classifications, and robust evidence-based studies to clarify these connections.

CONCLUSION: Explosive keywords and hotspot literature indicate that the etiology of salivary gland tumors, the impact of radiotherapy on salivary glands in head and neck tumors, and adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) are key research areas in the current and future landscape.
