Аннотация
Extracellular vesicles (EV) have emerged as vital biological entities, playing significant roles in intercellular communication, disease progression, and therapeutic interventions. However, conventional EV isolation methods, including ultracentrifugation, precipitation, and chromatography, present limitations such as low purity, prolonged processing times, high sample volume requirements, and inconsistent reproducibility, hindering their clinical adoption. Recent developments in microfluidic technologies have demonstrated substantial potential to overcome these challenges by offering precise, rapid, scalable, and high-throughput EV isolation with improved purity and specificity. This chapter critically evaluates the current state of EV research in clinical chemistry, emphasizing their diagnostic and therapeutic utility in oncology, neurodegenerative diseases, and personalized medicine. The chapter highlights the transformative role of microfluidic platforms that leverage size-, density-, and immunoaffinity-based approaches, coupled with advanced integration capabilities for downstream analyses. Furthermore, the scalability, standardization, regulatory considerations, and practical integration of these innovative technologies into clinical practice are thoroughly examined. Although technical, economic, and regulatory challenges persist, ongoing collaborative standardization efforts and continued technological advancements position microfluidic-based EV isolation as a pivotal approach for precision diagnostics and targeted therapeutics, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and healthcare efficacy.
