BACKGROUND: Rehabilitation of frequently ill children should be aimed at creating optimal conditions for the functioning of the immune system and provide for a range of medical and psychological measures, including a rational daily routine and nutrition, heat treatment, hardening, metered physical activity and physical therapy.
OBJECTIVE: Improvement of the rehabilitation complex using therapeutic gymnastics to increase the effectiveness of sanatorium treatment for children of primary and secondary school age with chronic respiratory pathology.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Analysis of primary medical documentation: histories of children's development, a card of preventive medical examination of a minor, a card of dispensary supervision, sanatorium-resort cards for children. Depending on the form of respiratory tract pathology, all children were divided into 2 groups. The first group included children with a verified diagnosis of "bronchial asthma, atopic form, mild intermittent course, controlled" and "bronchial asthma, atopic form, mild persistent course, controlled". The second group included children with chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract: chronic pharyngitis, chronic tonsillitis and chronic adenoiditis.
RESULTS: The dynamics of absolute values of vital capacity did not have statistically significant differences in any of the groups (p>0.05), at the same time, children in group 1 showed a statistically significant increase in the vital index (LMI), reflecting the relative values of LF in comparison with body weight. In addition, in the follow-up groups, there was a statistically significant increase in the absolute values of the respiratory retention time on inspiration (according to the results of the Barbell test) and exhalation (according to the results of the Genchi test), as well as chest excursions.
CONCLUSION: About the pronounced beneficial effect of the developed rehabilitation complex using therapeutic gymnastics in water on the development of the functional capabilities of the respiratory system of patients with bronchial asthma and chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
