Comparative Evaluation of SFRC and Bulk-fill Resin Composite Restoration in Primary Posterior Teeth: An In Vivo Study.
Аннотация
AIM: The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical performance of composite restorations restored by short fiber-reinforced and bulk-fill resin composites in the primary posterior teeth.
MATERIALS AND
METHODS
The study was conducted on 100 primary molars in children aged from 6 to 10 years having occlusal caries. Selected 100 primary molars were randomly divided into two groups, group A (EXF) and group B (TNC). Teeth were clinically evaluated using United States Public Health Service (USPHS) criteria.
RESULTS
Bulk-fill composite showed marginal disintegration compared to short fiber-reinforced composite (SFRC). No significant difference was observed for other parameters evaluated under USPHS criteria at different follow-up periods except for marginal adaptation favoring the SFRC at 3 and 6 months.
CONCLUSION
This study supports SRFC as a preferable material choice over bulk-fill composite resin, offering valuable guidance to dental professionals in clinical decision-making.
CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Incorporation of short glass fibers in Ever X Flow enhances marginal adaptability and minimizes microleakage at restorative margins.
