Аннотация
Toomela (2025) have provided a useful constructive critique of why Cultural Psychology has not yet succeeded in becoming a "general human psychology". This commentary includes a summary of the points Aaro Toomela states in his article and moves further into the discussion and balance between understanding Cultural Psychology as a system, in terms of Luria, Vygotsky and Anokin, as Toomela suggests, and suggesting importance of "bricoleurs" in terms of Smedslund (2012) in flexible and improvising manners. The main content of Aaro Toomela´s article includes (1) clear definitions on culture and psyche (2) scientific explanations and its limits (3) methodology (4) approaches (5) research questions (6) from theory to practice. What follows, is further elaborations of three main themes including improvisation through Smedslunds Bricoleur model, places for psychology and roles for psychologists. This opens up for discussions on the contributions for cultural psychology and limitations to be overcome for the future.
