BACKGROUND: Treatment of rectovaginal fistulas (RVFs) is extremely difficult. No standard surgical procedure is accepted worldwide. The aim of this article was to evaluate a minimally invasive procedure for the repair of mid-low rectovaginal fistula.
METHODS: This is a retrospective review of 17 patients who underwent minimally invasive surgery for the repair of mid-low rectovaginal fistulas (located in the lower or middle one-third of the vaginal wall) at our center between August 2016 and October 2018. A transverse vaginal septum is a horizontal wall of tissue that has formed during embryologic development and essentially creates a blockage of the vagina. It can occur at different levels of the vagina. We report a neonate who was diagnosed antenatally with an enlarged lower abdominal mass suggestive of an enlarged urinary bladder with hydronephrosis and hydroureter. Shortly after birth, she developed urinary retention and neonatal sepsis. Following multiple postnatal investigations, she was found to have a vaginal septum with hydrometrocolpos.

We hereby report the case of a primary acromioclavicular septic arthritis caused by Veillonella parvula. This bacteria is rare as a pathogen but is well known as a commensal of the lungs, vagina, mouth, and gastrointestinal tract of humans. However, it may turn as an opportunistic pathogen. It was isolated in blood culture and confirmed in biopsy specimen. The patient had complete recovery after surgical washout with second look at postoperative day two and targeted antibiotic treatment.

Mullerian abnormalities such as uterine didelphys have an association with renal abnormalities. Ureteric ectopia must be considered as a differential diagnosis of incontinence. We describe the case of a 21-year-old woman who presented with low volume continuous incontinence with a history of right renal agenesis and uterus didelphys. A right kidney was not identified on CT intravenous pyelogram but excretory phase images suggested the presence of a right ureter. Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid renogram confirmed an area of perfusion consistent with a poorly functioning right kidney remnant.
