BACKGROUND: In boys with unilateral nonpalpable testis (NPT), contralateral testicular hypertrophy (CTH) is a reportedly useful indicator for predicting viability of the affected testis. However, the cutoff values of contralateral testicular length (longitudinal diameter) used for defining CTH vary considerably among reports.
