OBJECTIVE: To assess the visual outcome of eyes undergoing Artisan lens implantation for aphakia, to identify reasons for poor outcomes, and to report incidences of post-operative uveitis, glaucoma, or hyphaema.
METHODS: A retrospective analysis of 32 eyes rendered aphakic through various causes, which subsequently underwent Artisan lens implantation.

OBJECTIVE: An attempt has been made to evaluate transient anterior chamber haemorrhage after canaloplasty.
METHOD: In the period from November 2008 to October 2009 a total of 21 eyes in 17 patients underwent canaloplasty for primary open angle glaucoma in our clinic. At the end of surgery all eyes left the surgical table with an intraocular pressure (IOP) of 5 - 10 mmHg and a deep anterior chamber without any bleeding.

This retrospective case series reviews the characteristics, complications and epidemiology of penetrating needle eye injury treated at a referral eye centre in Tehran, over 5 years. The medical records of 27 patients were evaluated. Mean age of patients was 17.41+/-18.69 years; 63% were less than 12 years old. We report a case of an elastic cord-related ocular injury, to increase the public's awareness of the seriousness of this type of injury. A 43-year-old Chinese postman presented with decreased visual acuity in the left eye after being hit by an elastic cord at work. BACKGROUND/AIMS: To evaluate the course of treatment and outcomes of neovascular glaucoma (NVG) treated with intravitreal bevacizumab.
METHODS: The study is a retrospective, non-comparative, consecutive, interventional case series. Demographic data, past ocular history, cause of NVG and anterior chamber angle status were recorded. PURPOSE: To describe a novel approach to mitomycin C (MC) application during trabeculectomy surgery and to report the 1-year results of surgery using this technique.
