BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granuloma is a benign vascular lesion. The differential diagnosis encompasses both malignant and benign conditions. While several modalities are available for its management, only surgical options enable a histopathological diagnosis, which is crucial to rule out clinical mimickers.
OBJECTIVES: To examine paediatric patients with pyogenicgranuloma-like Spitz naevus and emphasize the importance of tissue sampling for diagnostic accuracy and optimal care.
METHODS: A retrospective single-centre study of paediatric patients with lesions clinically diagnosed as pyogenic granu

Adult capillary haemangiomas of the eyelid are rare, with only a few cases reported in the literature. We report the case of a late adolescent girl with an acquired capillary haemangioma of the right upper eyelid preseptal region. The differential diagnoses considered were folliculitis and pyogenic granuloma, but the histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of capillary haemangioma. At the end of 10 months, the patient has not yet reported any recurrence and has no cosmetic complaints.

Pyogenic granulomas (PGs) are benign vascular lesions usually found in the skin and mucous membranes but rarely in the gastrointestinal tract. This case highlights a large PG in the small intestine, causing chronic anemia and serving as a lead point for intussusception. We discuss its diagnostic challenges, potential for misdiagnosis, and treatment options. This case underscores the need for awareness among clinicians regarding atypical presentations of PGs. It also highlights the importance of thorough evaluation in patients with unexplained anemia and intermittent obstruction, ensuring timel

Benign skin tumors are common findings in primary care. The ability to recognize and diagnose them accurately is important to distinguish them from less common malignant lesions. Dermoscopy and biopsy can improve diagnostic accuracy and streamline dermatologic care.

BACKGROUND: This study analyzes adverse event (AE) signals associated with ramucirumab using data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) to provide evidence supporting the safety of the drug for clinical use.
METHODS: Data were extracted from the FAERS database using Open Vigil 2.1. Signal detection was performed using the Reporting Odds Ratio (ROR), Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR), and Bayesian Confidence Propagation Neural Network (BCPNN) methods. AEs were categorized and described using the Preferred Terms (PTs) and System Organ Class (SOC) classifications from the Medical

OBJECTIVE: Spongiotic gingival hyperplasia (SGH) or localized juvenile spongiotic gingival hyperplasia (LJSGH) is a rare, benign, soft tissue oral lesion that shares overlapping clinical characteristics with more common reactive gingival lesions found in adolescents. SGH is clinically unrelated to the accumulation of plaque, and treatment by periodontal debridement and improved oral hygiene measures are ineffective. Currently, the etiology and pathogenesis of SGH are unknown. The objectives of this study are: (1) to assess the ability of clinicians to recognize and manage SGH compared with oth

We presented a case of PCOT that initially displayed clinical and histological features similar to pyogenic granuloma. Excisional biopsy and histological examination were performed to determine the definitive diagnosis. Therefore, it is argued that the clinical and incisional biopsy findings represent only alterations in the submitted tissue, which may be deceptive, and the final diagnosis may differ following surgical excision.

Deep-seated pyogenic granulomas (DSPG) are a rare variant of pyogenic granulomas and are commonly mistaken for other entities. Often, DSPG present as blue papulonodules without ulceration, and their clinical and histologic appearance can mimic other common subcutaneous nodules seen in pediatric patients, including hemangiomas, venous malformations, pilomatricomas, and kaposiform hemangioendotheliomas. Herein, we describe the clinical and histologic features of six pediatric cases of DSPG, as the clinicopathologic correlation of DSPG is scarce in the literature, especially in pediatric patients

Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH), also known as pyogenic granuloma, is a benign vascular lesion most often found on the skin and oral mucosa. Its occurrence in the nasal cavity is uncommon, yet clinically significant because of its rapid growth, tendency to bleed, and similarity to more aggressive tumors. Although the exact cause is uncertain, trauma, hormonal influences, and vascular malformations have been suggested as contributing factors. We describe the case of a 41-year-old married woman with no known comorbidities who presented with progressive right-sided nasal obstruction, a gradual

Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is an intermediate-grade vascular tumour that has undergone major treatment and diagnostic breakthroughs following the discovery of Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8). Whilst classically described in Eastern European populations, the endemic and epidemic forms of KS have facilitated its association with AIDS. This was led by the detection of HHV8 by PCR, and thereafter, immunohistochemically. This not only enabled the recognition and diagnosis of complex histopathological KS subtypes but also facilitated distinction from its mimickers, including acroangiodermatitis and pyogenic gra

Oral pyogenic granuloma is a benign, reactive vascular lesion that commonly affects the oral mucosa and is often triggered by trauma or irritation, presenting as a friable, bleeding mass. A 30-year-old man presented with a recurrent, rapidly growing oral mass in the right maxillary posterior region, causing difficulty in chewing and spontaneous bleeding for one year. Two years subsequent to the extraction of the right maxillary second premolar, a lesion manifested and was subsequently excised through surgical means. One year ago, the lesion re-emerged and progressively expanded to encompass bo

A 10-year-old Japanese female was referred to our hospital for a rapidly growing and easily bleeding nodule on her right temple. A physical examination revealed a red ulcerated nodule on her right temple. Our clinical diagnosis was pyogenic granuloma (PG), and cryotherapy was performed several times. However, this did not remove the tumor;therefore, we excised it under local anesthesia. A histopathological examination of the removed tumor showed vascular proliferations arranged in discrete lobules in the dermis. Based on these findings, we confirmed the diagnosis of PG. About 4 months after th

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign vascular tumor that most often arises on the gingiva, lips, and fingers, while eyebrow involvement is exceptionally uncommon. We describe a 50-year-old woman who developed a progressively enlarging, bleeding nodule on the right eyebrow that ultimately interfered with her vision. The lesion was managed with shave excision and electrocautery, and histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of PG. The patient remained disease-free after one year of follow-up. This case underscores the importance of recognizing PG in rare anatomical locations and consider

Retrospective clinical study oral lesions among children aged 0-3 years showed a prevalence of 0.27% among all biopsy files, with mucocele, papilloma, giant cell fibroma, pyogenic granuloma and hemangioma being the most common. Thus, guide early-age diagnosis and management in pediatric oral pathology is needed.

Pediatric sinonasal tumors are rare, and minimally invasive approaches are preferred because of unknown long-term effects on development. We report three cases of highly vascular pediatric sinonasal and pterygopalatine fossa tumors that were successfully removed using an endonasal endoscopic approach with transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE). The patients (9-11 years old) had contrast-enhanced tumors in the left ethmoid sinus near the sphenopalatine foramen in case 1, in the right nasal cavity near the sphenopalatine foramen in case 2, and in the right pterygopalatine fossa in case 3, wit
