A 57-year-old man presented with an abscess localised to the lateral rectus region. He was treated as a case of orbital cellulitis because of the presence of soft tissue swelling with a localised abscess discharging through the conjunctiva with associated reduction of visual acuity and restriction of ocular movements laterally. INTRODUCTION: Several complications can be observed after Achilles tendon repairs. In this study we aimed to report granuloma formation secondary to Achilles tendon repair with Ethibond (Ethicon INC, Somerville, New Jersey) suture.
PRESENTATION OF CASE: A 31 year-old man operated for Achilles tendon rupture. The Ethibond suture was used for primary repair. The patient attended to polyclinic with the complaints of swelling and discharge around the operation site four months after operation. A mass around distal portion of the Achilles tendon was detected. The granulomatous tissue was excised.

We presented 2 cases of lipogranuloma of the cheek following autologous fat injection. Facial autologous fat injection for soft tissue augmentation is a frequently used technique in the field of plastic surgery. Although this procedure was thought to be a safe procedure without foreign body reactions, there had been several case reports on lipogranuloma following autologous fat injection, especially into the periorbital area. In our cases, we experienced delayed lipogranulomas of the cheek area and successfully treated them with perioral excision.

A link has been established between peri-implant disease and excess cement extrusion in cement-retained implant restorations. The histologic findings of two patients with failed implants secondary to residual excess cement are reported here. If excess cement is detected early and adequately removed, resolution can occur in the majority of situations. Simple recommendations are proposed, with the intention of preventing further implant failures from residual excess cement.

BACKGROUND: Modularity of the femoral head-neck junction provides increased intraoperative flexibility to the surgeon. Complications of this modularity include damage to the trunnion, with subsequent bone and/or soft tissue loss from adverse reactions to metal debris.
CASE DESCRIPTION: We describe two cases of severe metal-induced osteolysis and soft tissue damage requiring revision 10 and 13 years following implantation of a unipolar endoprosthesis. Damage to the trunnion resulted in severe acetabular and trochanteric osteolysis and soft tissue loss requiring complex revision surgery.

Pseudotumours are sterile inflammatory lesions that can be found in soft tissues surrounding metal-on-metal and more rare metal-on-polyethylene hip arthroplasties.
