INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE: Necrotizing fasciitis is a rapidly progressive, life-threatening soft-tissue infection associated with high mortality, particularly when diagnosis is delayed. While most cases involve the extremities or perineum, retroperitoneal necrotizing fasciitis is exceedingly rare. Its deep anatomical location often results in vague clinical presentations, allowing extensive infection before overt signs develop, which poses significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We examined peri-procedural and early post-EVT temperature trajectories and their associations with 90-day outcomes in ICU patients with acute ischemic stroke.

BACKGROUND: Familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis type 2 (FHL2) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder primarily caused by mutations in the perforin-1 (PRF1) gene, leading to immune system hyperactivation and multi-organ dysfunction. Data on Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) RNA detection in non-blood specimens remain limited. We evaluated CCHFV RNA detection in nasopharyngeal (NP), oropharyngeal (OP), and sweat swab samples from hospitalized patients with CCHF. Among 50 patients with confirmed CCHF, CCHFV RNA was detected in at least one NP or OP swab in 91.5% of patients.
