BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of median nerve ultrasound in suspected cases of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) in a prospective, real-world study.
METHODS: This prospective study was carried out over one year at Roy Neuro Care Centre, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. We studied the safety and cost of repeated local steroid injections for carpal tunnel syndrome. Medical records of patients treated by injection between 2016-2017 were retrospectively reviewed for 5 years. Two-hundred and twenty-one patients were included.
