Closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) and helium-based breathing mixtures are widely used in technical diving. This study compared the effects of Heliox and Trimix on pulmonary function and decompression stress during CCR dives. Floating shoulder associated with multiple rib fractures with cervical dorsal spine fractures and lung injury has not been reported in the literature. Patient underwent single stage elective clavicle and scapula fracture stabilization. Good functional outcome at 6 months postoperative with near normal range of movements. Surgery allows early mobilization and better functional outcome. A CT scan of thorax and spine is highly recommended in such high velocity shoulder injuries to detect associated rib, spinal fractures and lung injury.

INTRODUCTION: In surgery for congenital biliary dilatation, it is essential to minimize residual intrapancreatic bile duct tissue to prevent future complications, such as intrapancreatic stones and carcinogenesis. However, dissection of the intrapancreatic bile duct is technically demanding and may result in injury to the main pancreatic duct. As a result, very few cases have been reported regarding the management of this complication in pediatric patients.
