OBJECTIVE: To develop a headspace gas chromatography method for determining dimethyl sulphate residual in granisetron hydrochloride.
METHODS: An Angilent INNOWAX capillary column with nitrogen gas as carrier and FID as detector was applied in this study. Dimethyl sulphate was tested under a constant column temperature.
RESULT: Dimethyl sulphate had different retention time from other organic solvents such as alcohol,acetoacetate, isopropanol, dichlormethane and chloroform, which might exist in granisetron hydrochloride. The detection limit of dimethyl sulphate;s was 0.0016%.

BACKGROUND: While there is a general consensus about the ability of benzene to induce acute myeloid leukemia (AML), its effects on chronic lymphoid leukemia and multiple myeloma (MM) are still under debate. We conducted a population-based case-control study to evaluate the association between exposure to organic solvents and risk of myeloid and lymphoid leukemia and MM.
METHODS: Five hundred eighty-six cases of leukemia (and 1,278 population controls), 263 cases of MM (and 1,100 population controls) were collected. Experts assessed exposure at individual level to a range of chemicals.

A method is described for assembling an evaporation manifold from a cell culture flask, which allows for efficient nitrogen evaporation of hexane from 24- and 96-well plates. The precursor parts are readily available in most research laboratories.
