Antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARBs) have been widely detected in wastewater and become a potential threat to human health. This work found that low-load single-atom copper (0.1 wt%) anchored on g-C3N4 (SA-Cu/g-C3N4) exhibited excellent ability to activate H2O2 and inactivate ARBs during the photo-Fenton process. The presence of SA-Cu/g-C3N4 (0.4 mg/mL) and H2O2 (0.1 mM) effectively inactivated ARBs. An efficient Cu(ii)-catalyzed, C-H alkylation of BODIPY with a variety of alkyl diacyl peroxides has been developed for the first time, providing a late-stage and straightforward method for controllable synthesis of monoalkylated and dialkylated BODIPYs via a radical process that otherwise is difficult to obtain by literature methods. This chemo- and site-selective transformation will allow for the introduction of a variety of functionalities on the BODIPY core for highly versatile tethering to receptors and to other molecules of interest.

BACKGROUND: Topical treatment of acne vulgaris on the back is challenging largely due to the extensive broad surface with difficult to reach areas. A "leave-on" foam is suited for application to the trunk due to ease of application and spreadability. Prior to this trial, no data on Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) reduction on the back has existed for any benzoyl peroxide (BP) formulations or other acne treatments.

A variety of α,β,γ,δ-diene carbonyl substrates with different substituents were successfully employable via combination with several different alkylsilyl peroxides.
