A biofilter (BF) packed with nutrition slow-release material and a biotrickling filter (BTF) packed with ether-based polyurethane foam were set up to remove dichloromethane (DCM) from exhaust gas. The volatile and soil loss profiles of six agricultural pesticides were measured for 20 days following treatment to freshly tilled soil at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center.
