Repeated exposure of the skin to ultraviolet radiation in the wavelength range 340-400 nm (so-called ultraviolet A1) was recently reported to have a strong local (intracutaneous) immunomodulatory activity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of fluticasone propionate in various dermatoses and to present the data to non-dermatologists. The study was performed at the Department of Dermatology, University School of Medicine in Poznań. BACKGROUND: Parry Romberg disease (hemifacial atrophy) and linear scleroderma (coup de sabre) are progressive, usually unilateral facial atrophies of unknown cause. The gold standard treatment for these patients has been microsurgical reconstruction following the "burning out" of the facial atrophy and stable contour for 2 years.
