In previous studies the effects of CGS 9896, a pyrazoloquinoline ligand at benzodiazepine receptors, in rats trained to discriminate benzodiazepines from vehicle, have been variable. Zolpidem has abuse potential, particularly among individuals with histories of drug abuse. This double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross over pilot study investigated the subjective effects of zolpidem (10 mg) in drug-naïve females. This paper reports an ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS-MS) method to quantitate 21 benzodiazepines, zolpidem and zopiclone in serum and plasma.
