This work describes the incorporation of SiNWs/AuNPs composite as a sensing material for DNA detection on indium tin-oxide (ITO) coated glass slide. The morphology of SiNWs/AuNPs composite as the modifier layer on ITO was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The morphological studies clearly showed that SiNWs were successfully decorated with 20 nm-AuNPs using self-assembly monolayer (SAM) technique. PURPOSE: To evaluate if the use of ultrasound activated Al203 powder improved the fit especially of all-ceramic restorations.
METHODS: 21 extracted teeth were prepared for 14 all-ceramic IPS Empress2 (IPS Empress2) restorations (four crowns, four partial crowns, two inlays, four veneers) and seven gold crowns (Degudent H). Each restoration was adjusted with a suspension of Al2O3 of 25 microm and 50 microm grit, respectively. The effect of the fitting adjustments was recorded with the silicone disclosing medium technique and measured at 11 points under the microscope in an interval of 0.4 mm.

OBJECTIVE: This study involves investigation of the use of video-imaging for measurement of volumetric shrinkage of composites.
METHODS: Six composites were tested for volumetric shrinkage using video-imaging. The volumetric shrinkage was measured using the single- and multi-view volumetric reconstruction modes.
