A medulloepithelioma of the ciliary body in the right eye of a 1-year-old goldfish (Carassius auratus) had spindle and epithelial cells arranged either in columns or around a central lumen. Vitreous-like material was found within the tumor. A medulloepithelioma is a most unusual tumor in fish in which ocular tumors are rare.

We report the case of a 3-year-old girl who presented with an elevated, darkly colored, subconjunctival lesion found to be a ciliary body cyst with extrascleral extension. The patient was treated with excision of bulbar conjunctiva, sclera, and the ciliary body cystic lesion. The defect was repaired with a scleral patch graft. The patient had a small recurrent cyst after 15 months of postsurgical follow-up, and the procedure was repeated. There was no recurrence at follow-up 1 year after the second surgery.

PURPOSE: We report a case of acutely presenting mesectodermal leiomyoma of the ciliary body in a 29-year-old female who reported waking up with swollen eyelids of the right eye and light-perception vision. The affected eye had elevated intraocular pressure, a flat anterior chamber, and a pale, round mass arising from the nasal ciliary body, invading the angle and protruding into the visual axis posterior to the lens. We present a case of epithelial downgrowth with intractable glaucoma after multiple intraocular surgeries. The eye was successfully managed with a pars plana approach. The zonular tension was studied in thirty fixed autopsy eyes (7 eyes under 30 years old, 15 eyes seventh decade and 8 eyes over 85 years old) by pulling the lens backward, and the surface structure of the ciliary body was studied histopathologically following the removal of zonular fibers. Endolaser photocoagulation of the ciliary body was used to treat 42 eyes with severe glaucoma that could not be managed successfully by medical therapy and conventional glaucoma surgery.
