The extracts from different parts such as the bark, leaf, root and fruit have various medicinal properties and have been extensively used in traditional Chinese medicine. Preparations formulated as coated or film-coated tablets, containing levonorgestrel and the combination ethinylestradiol/levonorgestrel, were evaluated in a comparative study. This study comprised in vitro dissolution, assay and content uniformity. The analytical methods were previously validated according to international guidelines. Ten ewe lambs (median age 11 months and average weight 29.2+/-2.5 kg) were used in the present study. They were divided into two groups: test (n=5) and control (n=5).
