Knowledge Distillation and Reinforcement Learning in a Human--Machine Collaboration Delivery System With a Robotic Arm.

Robotic arms are widely used in various aspects of human-robot collaboration. The primary goal of this study is to explore the usability of robotic arms for delivering objects to humans in dynamic environments. Traditional robotic arms often face limitations in path planning, such as difficulties adapting to dynamic environments and complex developmental processes. To overcome these challenges, this study employs reinforcement learning (RL) to train four models-the Approach RL Model, Delivery RL Model, Decision RL Model, and Merged Model-as alternatives to conventional path planning control. Learning Conditional Diffusion Transformer for Salient Object Detection in Optical Remote Sensing Images.

In recent years, the task of detecting salient objects in optical remote-sensing images has posed a significant and formidable challenge. The existing approaches heavily rely on a limited amount of label saliency masks and usually utilize convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for feature decoding. In this article, we introduce the conditional diffusion transformer network (CDTNet), a novel architecture meticulously designed to learn contextualized and diffusion-guided features for optical remote sensing image salient object detection (ORSI SOD). Our work presents a Transformer-based progressive

StereoAnything: Advanced Zero-Shot Stereo Imaging for Robotic Grasp Detection With Transparent Objects.

Grasping transparent objects remains challenging for robotic systems due to their reflective and refractive properties, which distort depth perception and introduce background noise. Unlike humans, who leverage life experience to perceive depth intuitively, robotic algorithms often fail to generalize across different object types. To address this, we propose a novel framework inspired by human perception for grasping transparent objects. Our approach extends features extracted by foundation models to implicitly learn reconstruction strategies for transparent objects without requiring segmentat

Reparameterization-Driven Depthwise Separable Large-Kernel Network for Lightweight Salient Object Detection of Strip Steel Surface Defects.

With the rapid development of neural networks, strip steel surface defect detection, as an important task in computer vision, has achieved remarkable progress. However, state-of-the-art methods still face a tradeoff between accuracy and efficiency. High-performing models are usually large and computationally expensive, whereas lightweight models often suffer from limited detection accuracy. To address this issue, we first propose a spatial channel enhancement (SCE) module, which consists of a reparameterizable depthwise large-kernel convolution and a reparameterizable pointwise (RepPw) convolu

A Novel One-Step Small Object Detector for Autonomous Aerial Vehicles.

Detecting small objects in aerial images is significantly challenging due to their nonuniform distribution and severe scale variations resulting from changing view angles. Because autonomous aerial vehicles have limited computational power, balancing detection accuracy and efficiency remains a challenging problem. Existing methods, e.g., feature pyramid network (FPN)-based algorithms, concentrate on fusing deep low-resolution features with shallow high-resolution features and primarily rely on simple stacking and channel fusion. However, features of small objects are easily affected by unpredi

Adaptive Neural Network Boundary Security Consensus Control of Nonlinear Delayed Multiagent PDE Systems Under Hybrid Attacks.

This article considers the security consensus control problem for nonlinear delayed multiagent systems (MASs) modeled by partial differential equations (PDEs), which have unknown boundary nonlinearities and are subjected to hybrid attacks including deception and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. To address these challenges, a composite adaptive neural network boundary security consensus controller is proposed, which consists of a boundary security consensus control component that guarantees the achievement of security consensus control in the mean square under hybrid attacks and an adaptive com

Distributed Cooperative Control Path Planning for UAV Formation Based on Ordered Trigger Communication.

To address issues such as control instability and imbalance caused by communication constraints, this article proposes a distributed cooperative control method for multi-uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) formations based on communication-ordered triggering. First, to address the limited interactions caused by obstacle occlusion and other factors, a nonoverlapping conflict-staggered communication triggering mechanism is introduced. By incorporating intermittent neighboring communication principles, UAVs maximize information sharing within a limited communication window, effectively resolving issues

Fixed-Time Synchronization of Networked Neutral-Type Filippov Systems With Application to RLC Transmission Line Models.

The interconnected RLC circuits are essential nonlinear models for analyzing dynamic coupling and energy transfer in complex electrical networks, serving as a standard testbed for nonsmooth control, time-delay analysis, and synchronization theory research. However, the existing theoretical studies exhibit prominent limitations: most works ignore the dimensional heterogeneity between drive Cresponse circuit subsystems and fail to integrate neutral time delays and Filippov nonsmooth characteristics in system modeling. Moreover, the coordination mechanism between dynamic event-triggered control a

Pseudoinverse Fuzzy Control of Discrete-Time Time-Delay Nonlinear Systems With Butterfly Hysteresis and Its Application on BDEA-Based Motion Platform.

This article proposes a novel fuzzy approximation-based adaptive dynamic surface control scheme with a double-loop pseudoinverse compensator for a class of discrete-time (DT) nonlinear systems characterized by time-delay and butterfly hysteresis. First, a DT butterfly Krasnosel'skii-Pokrovskii (DTBKP) model is developed to accurately characterize complex hysteresis in biconical dielectric elastomer actuators (BDEAs). Then, an optimized pseudoinverse (OPI) algorithm is designed to more effectively extract the actual control signal from the designed hysteresis temporary control signal, and there

Distributed Online Push-Sum Dual Averaging for Composite Optimization With Communication Delays.

In large-scale network systems, there is a high demand for online optimization, for instance to track time-varying targets in sensor network systems. This article investigates distributed online composite optimization over time-varying, unbalanced multiagent systems with communication delays. Each network node minimizes a local composite objective, consisting of a time-varying convex cost and a nonnegative regularization term. Using bandit feedback, we introduce a distributed online composite push-sum dual averaging algorithm tailored for communication delays. Through rigorous theoretical anal

Blockchain-Assisted Intelligent Resilient Tracking Control of Networked Systems.

With the increasingly integrated nature of networked control systems (NCSs), security has become a challenging issue for their widespread deployment. Although resilient control methods against various attacks have been reported, the analysis and design of defense mechanisms for NCSs still require fresh efforts. To this end, this article is concerned with the security control of a class of NCSs vulnerable to smart false data injection (FDI) attacks. Specifically, the scenario of output tracking of NCSs is considered, where the communication between sensors and controllers, as well as between co

Predictor-Based Adaptive Neural Network Control of Unknown Nonlinear Systems With Time-Varying Input Delay.

Stability is a prerequisite for safe and reliable system operation; however, time-varying input delays (TVIDs) and unknown nonlinearities pose significant challenges for stable control. To overcome these challenges, a predictor-based adaptive neural network control method is proposed. First, to mitigate the adverse effects of TVIDs on control performance, an observer-form predictor (OFP) is constructed, and a corresponding state feedback control strategy is designed. Second, a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) with the predicted state as input is employed to approximate the unknown

Data-Driven Trajectory Tracking Control Design for Unknown Linear Systems via a Nonminimal State-Space Model.

This work investigates the zero-error tracking problem for linear systems with unknown dynamics. The proposed method integrates a data-driven system model with an auxiliary system for error characterization. First, a nonminimal state-space (NMSS) model is constructed from historical input-output data. Then, an auxiliary system is formulated by leveraging the common minimal polynomial shared by the disturbance and reference trajectory. The stabilizability and detectability of the auxiliary system are rigorously verified, thereby guaranteeing the existence of a unique positive semidefinite solut

Saturated Precise Robust Singular Spectrum Analysis-Diffusion Model Predictive Control of AUVs.

Accurate path following by autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) in wave-dominated environments is limited by two coupled engineering constraints: feedback-driven disturbance observers (DOBs) exhibit phase lag, whereas aggressive cancellation of high-frequency components can exceed the vehicle and actuator bandwidths. This article develops a closed-loop predictive compensation architecture, termed singular spectrum analysis-diffusion (S2D)-model predictive control (MPC) that integrates a S2D observer, a dynamics-informed adaptive filter (DIAF), and MPC. The observer combines instantaneous Kalm

A Knowledge-Data Design of Fuzzy Rule-Based Models.

Machine learning (ML) models, including rule-based architectures dominant in the technology of fuzzy sets, are constructed with the aid of intensive usage of data. Quite often, knowledge about the system/problem is available and offers some tangible benefits to the construction of the models. The relevance of knowledge becomes of paramount importance when the data do not fully represent the problem and are not distributed across the overall input space. Under these circumstances, data-based ML models will very likely fail when being deployed in a real-world environment. The current intensively

Multisensor Transmission Scheduling for State Estimation Over Multihop Networks in a Cyber-Physical System Environment.

This article investigates the multisensor transmission scheduling problem for state estimation over multihop networks. Unlike single-sensor scheduling for multihop networks, the communication coupling of multisensor makes the design of transmission scheduling more complex. In view of this, we focus on finding the optimal multisensor transmission scheduling to minimize the estimation error covariance of the remote terminal units (RTUs) and transmission costs. First, the transmission scheduling problem is formulated as the Markov decision process (MDP) in the scenarios of smart relays and tradit

Distributed Event-Triggered Algorithm Designs for Resource Allocation Problems via a Universal Scalar Function-Based Analysis.

In this article, we are concerned with distributed algorithm designs for resource allocation problems via event-triggered communication. The target is to search an optimal resource allocation scheme such that the summation of objective functions is minimized. Due to communication efficiency and privacy concerns, distributed algorithms with event-triggered communications are proposed in this article. The communication is only permitted or triggered if variation of gradient of the local objective function exceeds a threshold. By constructing a novel technical lemma and a universal scalar functio
