INTRODUCTION: Human sclera grafts are widely used in ophthalmic surgery. Mainly they are used for coating orbital implants after enucleation.
METHODS: For the preparation of sclera grafts, all other tissues must be removed from the donor bulb including the retina, choroid, cornea, corpus vitreum and lens. The sclera graft can be stored dry or in ethanol until transplantation.

METHODS: Photorefractive keratectomy was performed in 16 human eye-bank eyes by means of a 193-nm excimer laser (range, 6 to 54 diopters [D]). Porcine eyes underwent either photorefractive keratectomy procedures (range, 30 to 93 D) with a 5-mm beam diameter or deep 5-mm plano disc ablations. PURPOSE: To observe trends in surgical techniques for corneal transplantation and main indications in our hospital over the past five years.
METHODS: Retrospective descriptive study, including all keratoplasties performed at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, Spain, between January 2014 and December 2018.
