BACKGROUND: This article reports on patients with low rectal cancer treated with robot-assisted laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection.
METHODS: Robot-assisted laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection was performed on seven patients in the General Surgery Clinic of Umraniye Training and Research Hospital between 2010 and 2011 by performing abdominal and perineal skin incisions using the same technique. We present a case of a woman, who was worked-up as a kidney donor, who was incidentally found to have a saccular aneurysm on her renal artery.
