In this study, monoclonal antibodies were developed from the partially purified surface tegumental antigens of F. gigantica. Nine MoAbs: 2G11, 1G2, 1B12, 2G2, 2G5, 3C6, 3G2, 3G3 and 3F6 were used for anatomical localization of adult F. gigantica. The reaction was demonstrated by Avidin-Biotin method. This study investigated the expression of osteoprotegerin (OPG) in healthy and inflamed dental pulps. AIM: Evaluation of the estrogen and progesterone receptors (ER and PR) in different degrees of endometrial hyperplasias.
METHODS: 10 cases of each degree of endometrial hyperplasia (simple, complex and atypical) were analyzed using the avidin-biotin-peroxidase technique and monoclonal antibodies applied to formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue.

OBJECTIVE: To attempt to evaluate the likelihood that normal keratin (antibody LH8) expression might contribute to a false positive diagnosis when sampling a lesion affecting the oral mucosa.
STUDY DESIGN: Smears were taken from four oral sites (buccal mucosa, hard palate, dorsal tongue, ventral tongue) in 28 patients using the Axibrush. These were processed using a standard avidin-biotin technique, and the number of brown "positive" cells was assessed.

We investigated the existence of lysozyme in various sweat apparatus tumors by adopting the avidin-biotin-peroxidase complex method. Positive reactions for lysozyme were found in four cases of apocrine cystadenoma, hidradenoma papilliferum, and an apocrine sweat apparatus benign tumor resembling "apocrine spiradenoma", all of which derive from apocrine sweat apparatus. We investigated the presence of endocrine cells in the human extrahepatic biliary system using the avidin-biotin-peroxidase complex method. Twenty gallbladders obtained during operations for cholelithiasis, large portions of three common bile ducts obtained during Whipple's procedure for carcinoma of the head of the pancreas, and 155 endoscopic transpapillary biopsy specimens taken during control endoscopy from patients who had had a previous endoscopic sphincterotomy were examined. Somatostatin-containing cells were found in the glandular epithelium of the ampulla of Vater and the bile ducts.

The pharmacokinetics of cytotoxin 14 (CT 14) from Naja naja atra venom was studied with biotin-avidin enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The plasma concentration-time curve of CT 14 after bolus i.v. 0.2 mg.kg-1 into rabbits was found to fit a two-compartment open model. T1/2 alpha was 5.8 +/- 0.6 min and T1/2 beta was 3.5 +/- 0.2 h. A rapid absorption was seen after im injection (0.5 mg.kg-1) to rabbits. The peak level was 260 +/- 90 ng.ml-1 and Tpeak was 13.6 +/- 2.4 min. The absolute bioavailability was 34 +/- 9%.
