Graviola (Annona muricata) is a tropical plant with many traditional ethnobotanic uses and pharmacologic applications. A metabolomic study of both aqueous and DMSO extracts from Annona muricata leaves recently allowed us to identify dozens of bioactive compounds. An eleven-year-old stallion was referred for adjuvant treatment of an incompletely excised, recurring penile fibrosarcoma. Ameloblastic fibrosarcoma (AFS) or ameloblastic sarcoma is an extremely rare odontogenic neoplasm. The authors report AFS in the maxillary sinus of a 4-month-old boy. The tumor was composed of odontogenic epithelium, resembling that of ameloblastoma, and a mesenchymal part exhibiting features of fibrosarcoma. We also found some areas with deposition of dentinoid material closely adjacent to the ameloblastic epithelium. Although AFS has occurred in a wide age range, this is the first report of this tumor in infancy with long-term follow-up.

OBJECTIVE: To study the inhibiting effect of glycyrrhizin on proliferation of the cell line of mice submandibular gland fibrosarcome in vitro.

Murine fibrosarcoma cells (SSK) exhibit a transient cisplatin resistance after low-dose irradiation (5 x 2 Gy) in vitro and in vivo. Growth of a murine fibrosarcoma was suppressed when tumor cells were mixed with viable Listeria monocytogenes (LM) before intradermal injection into nonimmune syngeneic recepients.
