CHDs affecting the right ventricular outflow tract often require repeated surgical or transcatheter interventions due to pulmonary insufficiency or stenosis. This study presents percutaneous implantation of large self-expanding valves in patients with complex right ventricular outflow tract anatomy after prior pulmonary branch stenting.

BACKGROUND: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is characterized by left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO), leading to symptoms and adverse outcomes. Disopyramide, with its negative inotropic effects, is commonly used to reduce LVOTO in obstructive HCM (HOCM). This study evaluates the impact of disopyramide on functional capacity in HOCM patients.
METHODS: Symptomatic HOCM patients evaluated between October 2021 and May 2024 were divided into two groups: those receiving disopyramide and those treated with beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers due to disopyramide unavailability.

BACKGROUND: Complete atrioventricular block (AVB) is a life-threatening condition that usually occurs in elderly people with organic heart disease. We herein describe a rare case of complete AVB in a young man with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) complicated by cholecystitis and cholangitis. Percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation is a less invasive procedure to treat right outflow tract dysfunction related to surgical procedures such as repair of Tetralogy of Fallot. Despite the lower risks, complications have been reported, namely embolisation of the pre-stent. We report a case of a 16-year-old boy, whose procedure was complicated by embolisation of the pre-stents and the strategy used to reimplant them, prior to the successful implantation of a pulmonary valve.

A 62-year-old female with severe symptomatic rheumatic mitral stenosis was referred for mitral valve replacement. A 27-mm Carbomedics mechanical mitral valve was placed using everting sutures. As the patient was weaned off cardiopulmonary bypass, she became hemodynamically unstable. OBJECTIVE: If the pulmonary artery (PA) tree in patients with Fallot's tetralogy (TOF) is extremely hypoplastic, a shunt procedure may be difficult and not desirable because of side-effects. Primary cardiac tumours are rare and most of them are benign. Myxomas, fibroelastomas and lipomas are common in adults.
