The activation of H2B K120 monoubiquitylation (H2BK120ub) by H2B S112 GlcNAcylation (H2BS112GlcNAc) has an important role in regulating transcriptional activation, yet its mechanism remains unclear. Here we chemically synthesized H2BS112GlcNAc-modified nucleosomes and quantitatively evaluated how H2BS112GlcNAc stimulates ubiquitylation by RNF20/RNF40-RAD6A E3-E2 enzymes. Cryo-electron microscopy determination of a chemically trapped RNF20/RNF40-RAD6A-Ub-H2BS112GlcNAc nucleosome complex revealed that the H2BS112GlcNAc moiety interacts with the E2 enzyme RAD6A but not the E3 ligase RNF20/RNF40.

The mitotic rates in the crypts of Lieberkühn of the proximal jejunum and descending colon of mouse, following different treatments, were measured using a stathmokinetic technique. Regression coefficients, representing mitotic rates, were then calculated by the method of least squares. In a previous report it was suggested that intravenous administration of furosemid followed by a comparative caloric test (the furosemid test) could be utilized for detection of endolymphatic hydrops (Kitahara et al., 1973). Implanted vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has been used to treat seizures and depression. In this study, we explored the mechanism of action of noninvasive vagus nerve stimulation (nVNS) for the treatment of trigeminal allodynia. The postnatal anemia in rabbits is accompanied by a marked rise in the plasma erythropoiesis stimulating factor(s) (ESF). The purpose of this study was to establish whether the increase in plasma ESF is only related to the anemia, or whether other mechanisms also are involved. Levels of testosterone concentration in blood increased significantly in sexually immature boars after application of chorionic gonadotropin.
