INTRODUCTION: Bilateral acute iris transillumination (BAIT) is a clinical condition characterized by acute bilateral loss of iris pigment epithelium and iris transillumination. Because of the similar presentation, it is commonly confused with anterior uveitis, making it an important differential diagnosis for this condition.

PURPOSE: To assess the safety and efficacy of combining phacoemulsification with gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) compared to phacoemulsification alone in the management of primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG).
METHODS: Prospective, institutional study in which eyes requiring surgery for PACG were randomized to undergo phacoemulsification followed by GATT (phaco-GATT group) or phacoemulsification alone. Success was defined as having a final IOP of 6-20 mmHg with no subsequent glaucoma surgery or vision-threatening complications.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of circumferential trabeculotomy (CT) in the treatment of primary congenital glaucoma (PCG).
METHODS: Retrospective, single-institutional case series of CT performed for PCG in years 1997-2016. The surgery could be completed in 42 out of 65 eyes (65%) intended for CT, and 39 of them were included in the study. A follow-up examination was performed in 2017. Success was defined as intraocular pressure ≤ 16 mmHg without (complete) or with (qualified) glaucoma medication.

We report the correction of aphakia using an iris-claw, aphakic intraocular lens (IOL) fixated in a retropupillary location in a 17-year-old young man who suffered blunt trauma to his eye 5 months after penetrating keratoplasty (PKP). There were no intraoperative complications. At 21 months after implantation, the patient's uncorrected distance visual acuity was 20/28; his corrected distance visual acuity was 20/22, with +0.50 -3.00 × 155. Intraocular pressure was normal, and endothelial cell count was 1798 cells/mm(2).

PURPOSE: Comparing the rate of postoperative shallow anterior chambers with three kinds of filtration surgery to find the most effective way of reducing the complication.
METHODS: The 120 cases (154 eyes) with primary angle-closure glaucoma or primary open-angle glaucoma were enrolled in this study.
