BACKGROUND: Acute traumatic patellar dislocations may cause intra-articular derangements of the knee in the setting of acute and chronic instability which may not always be appropriately identified on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
PURPOSE: To determine the rates of coexisting intra-articular pathology in patients with patellar instability requiring medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction and to report discrepancies between preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings and diagnostic arthroscopy results.

Of 248 dwarfs with Achondroplasia, Pseudoachondroplastic dysplasia, Metaphyseal chondrodysplasia. Diastrophic dwarfism, Morquio syndrome, and Spondylo-epiphyseal dysplasia Congenita, 85 were managed by orthopedic methods. Experience with bracing is generally unsatisfactory. The Blauth prosthesis is a hinged total knee replacement. We have evaluated 422 consecutive primary total knee arthroplasties using this design in 330 patients with a maximum follow-up of 20 years (mean 6). The mean age of the patients at the time of operation was 70 years (29 to 87).
