Phytochemical, Free Radical Scavenging and Antifungal Profile of Cuscuta campestris Yunck. Seeds.

This work was conceptualized with the goal to investigate the phytochemical, free radical scavenging and antifungal profile of Cuscuta campestrisYunck. seeds. Total phenolics, amino acid and carbohydrate contents were evaluated in ethanolic, acetone and chloroform extract. Effective antioxidant activity was evaluated throughout seven antioxidant methods. The goal of this research was to evaluate the anti-hepatitis B virus (HBV) activities of three compounds extracted and purified from Herpetospermum seeds (HS) on HepG2.2.15 cells. BACKGROUND: Gloriosa superba, well known as the glory lily or superb lily, is a tropical climbing plant that features an exotic red flower. The plant is poisonous because of high concentrations of colchicine in all parts of the plant. Cyanogenic glycosides are natural plant toxicants. Action by endogenous plant enzymes can release hydrogen cyanide causing potential toxicity issues for animals including humans. We have quantified amygdalin in seeds from different apple varieties, determined the effects of processing on the amygdalin content of apple juice and quantified amygdalin in commercially-available apple juices. A facile solution process for the preparation of anisotropic silica nanoparticles (ASNPs) is presented. ASNPs are prepared via controlled self-assembly of spherical silica seeds (22 nm) in alcohol-water mixed media, followed by their in situ fixation and overgrowth with tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). CNS Depressant Activity of Ethanol Extract of Sterculia guttata seeds in mice.

Shade dried, powdered seeds of Sterculia guttata were extracted using a Soxhlet extractor with ethanol. Ethanol was removed under reduced pressure and dried to obtained crude extract. This extract was evaluated for its effect on behavioral changes, exploratory activity and barbiturate-sleeping time, using appropriate standard methods in mice. The extract exhibited dose-dependent CNS depressant activity.

Effect of the aqueous extract of fresh coriander (Coriandrum sativum) seeds has been studied on female fertility in rats. Parameters included effects on oestrus cycle, implantation, foetal loss, abortion, teratogenicity and serum progesterone levels on days 5, 12 and 20 of the pregnancy. The opportunity of stereotactic biopsy for the histological diagnosis of brain tumors, the radiobiologic bases, clinical implications and technical possibilities of interstitial radiation therapy are discussed.
