We have previously shown that damage to the retina by air infusion from an infusion cannula is a causative factor. Ascending urethrography using the Leech-Wilkinson intra-uterine cannula in adult male patients.

The Leech-Wilkinson Intra-Uterine Cannula used in hysterosalpingography has proved useful in ascending urethrography in the adult male patients. Lesions of the urethra, e.g., strictures, calculi, sinuses, diverticula and urethral tear are best demonstrated by ascending urethrography. This method does not replace voiding cysto-urethrography under physiological conditions.

Fluid infusion into the pericardium resulting from accidental displacement of a subclavian venous cannula.

A patient for double valve replacement developed an unusual complication consequent to extra-vascular displacement of a port of a central venous catheter, placed through the right subclavian vein. The patient had an uneventful surgical course and the trachea extubated after routine mechanical ventilation. Patient developed excessive mediastinal drainage later, which was noticed to be watery in nature. We have previously shown that nasal mucosal injury from use of oxygen cannulas in ELBW infants increases nasal secretions and bleeding.
