OBJECTIVE: To present a case of secondary renal abscess to a xanthogranulomatosis pyelonephritis with perforation to chest that required nephrectomy and decortication left pleural.
METHODS AND RESULTS: Patient feminine of 38 years that present infections from the tract urinary secondary to kidney lithiasis that evolve to a kidney abscess that you perforates to chest where you forms an abscess. It was treated with nephrectomy and drainage of chest abscess by chest tube, and later decortication, with good evolution.

The diagnosis of hydronephrosis is made by excretory urography with late films and retrograde pyelography. Renal arteriography in hydronephrosis permits exact evaluation of vascular supply and parenchymal thickness. In three cases selective arteriography was performed because of a non-functioning kidney or suspected space-occupying lesion. We report a case of uretero-appendiceal fistula. A 63-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with high grade fever and loss of 5 kg of body weight over 6 months. Pyonephrosis was diagnosed. A retrograde ureterogram and barium enema showed a connection between cecum and ureter. Right nephroureterectomy and right hemicolectomy were carried out. The final diagnosis was uretero-appendiceal fistula.

The authors report a case of unilateral xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis, associated with chronic lithiasis studied by standard clinical magnetic resonance imaging protocol and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). This is a report of an iatrogenic inferior vena cava (IVC) segmental resection and reconstruction utilizing bovine pericardium. Injury to the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) during nephrectomy is a rare but potentially catastrophic complication. OBJECTIVE: To present the results of our case series on laparoscopic nephrectomy in xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XGP).
METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted that included 143 patients treated with laparoscopic nephrectomy for non-functioning kidney, of whom 15 had XGP, within the time frame of 2011 to 2019. The demographic and clinical data were collected, along with the intraoperative results, complications, and days of hospital stay.

Although the most common renal infection, acute pyelonephritis, can typically be diagnosed on clinical and laboratory examinations, radiologic studies play a role in evaluating for complications and in examining the high-risk patient for more serious complications and atypical infections.
