OBJECTIVE: We aimed to evaluate the performance of various GFR estimates compared with direct measurement of GFR (dGFR). We also sought to create a new formula for volume-based GFR (new-vGFR) using kidney volume determined by CT.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: GFR was measured using creatinine-based methods (MDRD, the Cockcroft-Gault equation, CKD-EPI formula, and the Mayo clinic formula) and the Herts method, which is volume-based (vGFR). We compared performance between GFR estimates and created a new vGFR model by multiple linear regression analysis.

PURPOSE: To compare the dose and image quality of a standard dose abdominal and pelvic CT with Filtered Back Projection (FBP) to low-dose CT with Adaptive Iterative Dose Reduction 3D (AIDR 3D).

In the present study, we aimed to compare clinical and radiological findings between patients with and without pulmonary embolism (PE) and determine possible risk factors for PE development among patients with cancer. OBJECTIVES: To assess the effect of salvage hepatic vein embolization (HVE) on the volume of the future liver remnant (FLR) for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) and inadequate hypertrophy following initial portal vein embolization (PVE).
METHODS: From April 2011 to October 2018, 9 patients with mCRC underwent HVE following PVE. The right or middle hepatic vein was embolized with coils and/or vascular plugs. Liver volumes were calculated at baseline, following PVE, and following HVE, in order to assess the hypertrophic effect of PVE and HVE on the FLR.
